With regular meetings featuring guest speakers talking about local and national topics of historical interest, regular newsletters, guided and self-guided historical walks and tours, the Society had plenty of ways to market itself to people of all ages in Adelaide and beyond.

With numerous historical resources contained in vast Word documents, this project involved putting 30 years of the society’s history online, including research projects and records of guest speakers and a library of tapes of talks of historical interest.

The project involved training sessions to Society volunteers so they can maintain the website.

There’s still plenty of potential for further development, such as putting recordings from guest speakers online, and mapping existing historical research documents onto Google Maps so people could interact with their smartphones out in the field.
